The Palouse Ice Rink has been a beloved recreational asset for the local communities since it opened its doors in 2002. Originally intended as a temporary facility, the rink quickly gained popularity and became a staple for ice-related activities. After 20 successful seasons, a new permanent structure was needed to serve the community’s needs. We renovated the 42,000 sf former Northwest River Supplies building into the new Parks Activity Recreation Center (PARC).
PARC boasts a full-size sheet of ice, insulated walls, multiple locker rooms, permanent bathrooms, classrooms for the Science on Ice program, and space for spectators with bleachers and an elevated viewing area. There’s even room for potential concession stands and food vendors.
Thanks to the PARC, the full-size rink will be able to host hockey tournaments and provide the University of Idaho Vandals hockey team with a proper venue for meaningful tournaments and games. It’s a great addition to the community and will indeed be enjoyed by all for years to come.
